"Aristotle's Plants" contains a list of plants which have been observed in Mountain Stratoniko (location Barbara), Aristotle's Park, Ierissos and Ancient Stageira, peninsula of Chalkidiki, Greece, birthplace of ancient philosopher Aristotle.
This database was created by the students of postgraduate studies programme "Conservation of biodiversity and sustainable exploitation of native plants (bnp)" of the Department of Botany, School of Biology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
This database is a project made during the course "Website Design and Development", which has been taught by Dr. Spyros Gkelis.
The collection of the plants took place in the regions Mountain Stratoniko (location Barbara), Aristotle's Park, Ierissos and Ancient Stageira, penisula of Chalkidiki, in 16-18 May 2016, in 10-12 May 2017 and in 7-9 May 2018 during the course "Indentification and collection of plants at the field". The indentification of the specimens was supervised by professors S.Kokkini and E.Chanlidou during the course "Indentification and collention of plants at the field" and the course "Catalogue of plants from specific areas"

The nomenclature is based on The Plant List and Vascular Plants Checklist of Greece. The information for the descriptions of the plants is based on online databases, websites and journal articles.
